I'm James Whittaker, a front-end Technical Architect, speaker and Adobe Community Professional since 2008. I specialise in creating enjoyable engaging experiences using the latest web technologies for web, mobile and desktop.
I'm passionate about user experience and the small little details that go into making a product special.
I love my job! Yes that's totally true. I've been pushing pixels and writing code at TweetDeck since 2009. Building and designing one of the world largest Adobe AIR desktop applications has been awesome fun. However our ChromeDeck product for the Google Chrome browser and our web only versions of TweetDeck have been my personal highlight. Using the latest web standards like HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript we felt the time was right to bring that core TweetDeck experience to the browser opening up a whole new userbase.
ChromeDeck was the number one app in the Google Chrome Web Store since launching in December 2010, right up until Angry Birds came out in May 2011. Who wants to throw birds at pigs anyway!
Previoulsy I was a Technical Architect at Nokia Music for the mobile and web products. See my LinkedIn for more.
Currently working on a few interesting little side projects aimed at the mobile web.
It's a very exciting time to be working on the web.
